The first exhibition in The Netherlands on the life and work of French animal painter Rosa Bonheur (1822-99) is fittingly held at the Mesdag Collection museum, which keeps the collection of Dutch 19th century painter H.W. Mesdag, himself a fan of Rosa Bonheur's work.
